In 1958, Carl Alfonso opened Alfonso Realty after working for Cheney Real Estate. Tommye joined the firm in 1960 and, before long, became a top producer on the Gulf Coast. In 1984, Carl and Tommye’s oldest daughter, Carlene, bought the company. When Carlene entered the family business, she dedicated herself to learning everything there was to know about real estate. After exhausting all local resources, Carlene realized she needed to look nationally for a strong brand with a distinguished reputation for knowledge, innovative ideas, and commitment to the industry. Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty (CBAR) officially opened its doors in Gulfport in 1988.
